Georgia Southern visited Brooks Stadium Saturday afternoon to take on No. 25 Coastal Carolina.

A couple of hours before game time, Coastal announced that they would be playing without their starting quarterback, Grayson McCall due to an upper body injury.

Georgia Southern also announced that starting safety Kenderick Duncan, Jr. would be playing in his first game this season. Duncan had been out due to having knee surgery in the offseason.

Chanticleers' backup QB Fred Payton is no stranger to the field. The former starter threw for 252 yards and three touchdowns in the 28-14 victory over the Eagles.

The game was tied up at 14 when Coastal scored twice in the fourth quarter, giving them the win to remain undefeated.

Georgia Southern falls to 3-2 on the season and takes on Sun Belt opponent South Alabama on Thursday night.
